Financial Aid at Germanna is intended to help provide each student a valuable financial resource for achieving his or her academic goals. As such, Satisfactory Academic Progress standards apply to all federal aid (grants, loans, work-study) and non-federal aid, including state funds, institutional funds and foundation scholarships.
Satisfactory academic progress will be evaluated for financial aid recipients at the end of each semester and when the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is received by the College.
Students that lose their eligibility for financial aid as a result of failing to meet the satisfactory academic progress standards will have their financial aid cancelled for all future semesters until the standards of satisfactory progress, listed below, are achieved.
If you are not meeting the satisfactory academic progress standards, we will notify you via your Message Center, which is in your Student Center in your MyGCC account. An email will also be sent to your student email account notifying you of the message.
The following standards are in accordance with the provisions established by the United States Department of Education.
Grades of A, B, or C are required for most new and continuing students
